[20p-131-5] Electric field effect on magnetic moment in Pt/Co structure
Keywords:Electric field effect on magnetism, Cobalt
To comprehend the physics of the electric field effect on magnetism in ferromagnetic metals, we have carefully investigated the electric field modulation of magnetic moment in perpendicularly-magnetized Pt/Co structure. The Pt/Co film deposited on a Si/SiO2 substrate was fabricated into a capacitor structure. The perpendicular component of magnetic moment was measured using SQUID magnetometer under applying gate voltages. The result shows that the magnetic moment increased (decreased) when the positive (negative) gate voltage was applied. The modulation of magnetic moment was roughly estimated to be 1 \muB/electron.
