[20p-211B-7] Localization of an atomic system in the 2D subwavelength domain

Keywords:Atom localization, Quantum optical effect, Atom light coupling

The present study describes the atom localization in a domain of one unit wavelength by considering a cascade-type atomic system. When an atom passes through standing-wave couple fields, it faces a spatial dependent probe absorption which is a key factor for the present study. Atom localizes at those position corresponding to maxima of probe absorption. In case of the stationary atom, localization position can be tuned to desirable quadrants of a domain by choosing the appropriate parametric conditions. While in case of moving atom, it becomes hard to find localization position of the atom due to Doppler effect.
