[17a-B403-6] Generation of Vector Beams from Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser using Optical Feedback with a Birefringent Lens
Keywords:Cylindrical vector beam, Radial polarization, VCSEL
In this talk, we present a method to stably generate cylindrical vector beams such as radially or azimuthally polarized beams from a commercially-available vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) with an external cavity equipped with a plano-convex, birefringent rutile lens. The birefringence of the uniaxial rutile crystal behaves as a polarization selective element for radial or azimuthal polarization. The selective generation can be achieved simply by adjusting the rutile lens position inside the external cavity.
