Keywords:TADF, STM, highly ordered molecular film

In spite of high internal quantum efficiency of the thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecule, a low outcoupling efficiency of a TADF thin film has restricted the external quantum efficiency of the organic light-emitting diode(OLED) devices within the range of 30 %. Since control of the molecular orientation is required to increase the outcoupling efficiency, we fabricated a well-ordered homogeneous thin film of the TADF molecule (4CzIPN). Structural, electronic states and PL angular distribution measurements of the 4CzIPN film revealed the high degree of ordering of the transition dipole moment in the thin film, indicating that the well-ordered films of 4CzIPN molecules could potentially be utilized in OLED devices with high light outcoupling efficiency.
