The main application fields of quantum cascade lasers are gas analysis and molecular spectroscopy measurement, but in recent years, small size and high speed are required, and low power consumption is indispensable. We developed a practical low power consumption quantum cascade laser with single mode oscillation at room temperature CW drive at a wavelength of 4.5 μm where absorption spectra of N 2 O and CO exist due to reduction of drive.
