[17p-P6-16] Self-propelled Ionic Gel at Air-Liquid and Liquid-Liquid Interface

We recently found a new function of ion gel, that is a self-propelled motion at air-water interface. Although there are many kinds of ion gels, the self-propelled properties of any of those materials are unexplored at present. We report self-propelled motions of EMIM-TFSI-based ion gels with different alkyl chain lengths in ethyl position. We find the self-propelled motions of ion gels at liquid-liquid (water-chloroform) interface, which has never been observed.
