専門科目の講義や実験を早期に導入できる高専教育の高度化を目指し，青色LEDの製作を学生実験へ導入した教育効果について報告する。テストはpn接合と青色LEDの原理に関する基礎的問題、LED特性と発熱の影響に関する問題からなっている。アンケートは、興味、理解度、安全に関する質問からなっている。実験前後でのテストの正答率は51%から65%に向上し，アンケートは実験前後での平均点数の変化は、興味0.58点、理解度1.32点の増加となった。
