[18p-F102-3] Numerical calculation of thermoacoustic phenomena

Yuki Ueda1 (1.Tokyo Univ. A&T)

Keywords:Sound, thermoacoustic

The propagation of sound wave in a free space can be treated as an adiabatic process. However, in a narrow tube, sound wave can isothermally propagate. This is because the working medium thermally interacts with the tube wall. As a result, thermoacoustic phenomena can take place. The history of the theoretical and experimental investigations of the phenomena will be shown.
