For practical uses of polymer electrolyte fuel cell, highly durable catalyst supports are demanded. we are focusing on carbon nanowalls (CNWs). We already reported that CNWs fabricated by CH4/H2 plasma exhibit high durability which showed almost no degradation even after 20,000 cycles of potential cycle test. Though, the factor which cause this high durability of CNWs is not clarified yet. In this research, we report the effect of changing the surface state of CNWs on electrochemical durability.
