Keywords:SQUID, ultrasonic guided wave, nondestructive testing

We have been developing a novel non-destructive testing technique combining ultrasonic guided waves and HTS-SQUID for long structures, such as pipes. In this work, we applied our technique to iron board to verify applicability of the technique on board structure while utilizing a magnetostrictive sensor (MsS) and PVDF piezoelectric sensor instead of a HTS-SQUID sensor. We also studied a method to control propagation direction of SH guided waves generated on the iron board by combining two MsS as a transmitter.
