[20p-A402-14] Mechanism for the generation of ultrabroadband coherent infrared wave from air plasma

We simulated the generation of ultrabroadband coherent infrared pulses from air plasma taking the effect of dispersions in materials on the temporal profiles of two-color pulses, and found that the plasma current model rather than the four wave mixing model well reproduces the experimental results. We think it because we tightly focus pumping pulses for plasma generation using a parabolic mirror with a short focal length, where large part of molecules are ionized and the radiation from ionized plasma overwhelms that from neutral molecules. This result indicates the importance of the focusing condition for the generation of infrared wave from air plasma.
