Light absorption enhancement on thin film silicon solar cell is very challenging because of limited thickness of the device. Pyramid texturing can’t be done on thin film devices and hence, metal nanoparticles play an important role for light absorption enhancement. Three different sizes of silver nanoparticles is studied for light absorption enhancement on PIN silicon solar which has microcrystalline silicon as intrinsic layer and other layers are amorphous in nature. Silver nanoparticles with diameter 200 nm has got highest absorption enhancement factor (M). Hence, size selection of metal nanoparticle is very crucial for best absorption of light on thin film devices.
