Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have gathered much attention because of the outstanding mechanical properties. We focused on incorporating plastic deformation into the CVD synthesis process. Here we demonstrated the diameter thinning of CNTs using the stress using the shear stress of gas laminar flow.
