[18p-E101-7] Development of Novel Wavelength Converters Made of Widegap Semiconductors: Polarity-Inverted Waveguide and Microcavity
Keywords:widegap semiconductor, wavelength converter, quantum optics
In this talk, the operating principle of novel ultra-compact wavelength conversion devices based on the transverse quasi-phase matching and microcavity phase matching is outlined, which will be the core devices for the realization of deep-ultraviolet lasers composed of a wavelength converter monolithically integrated with a high-efficiency InGaN laser, and for the compact and stable optical quantum computers. In addition to the techniques used for the device fabrications such as surface-activated wafer bonding and crystallographic anisotropic etching, the achievements in the demonstration of second harmonic generation and the results obtained in related studies are reviewed as well.
