[18p-E203-16] Relationship between Plasmon Mode and Fluorescence Enhancement in the Fluorescence Microscopic Imaging with a Plasmonic Chip

Hinako Chida1, Keiko Tawa1 (1.Kwansei Univ.)

Keywords:surface plasmon resonance, grating, spectroscopic imaging

The plasmonic chip composed of the periodic structure coated with thin metal films enabled enhanced fluorescence imaging of cells using lattice-coupled surface plasmon excitation enhanced fluorescence (GC-SPF)1). However, the enhanced fluorescence image obtained by the microscope didn’t belong to the plasmon mode. In this study, the resonance wavelength found the reflection spectrum of the plasmonic chip belonged to the plasmon mode calculate from theoretical expression. Then, using several types of excitation wavelengths, the fluorescence intensity of the fluorescent substance according to with or without the plasmon mode is compared, and their excitation enhancement effect and emission enhancement effect are reported.
