Keywords:high harmonic generation, topological edge states

Band structures play a crucial role in high harmonic generation from solids, and thus the mechanism of high harmonics from "bulk" solids have been studied so far. Besides, the topological materials, which have edge states between the valence band and the conduction band, is known for peculiar band structures. Based on these backgrounds, we performed numerical simulations about high harmonic spectra by using time-dependent density functional theory. Then, we studied the role of electrons in the edge state on high harmonic generation from topological materials.
