[19a-E205-12] Femtosecond infrared luminescence in aluminum
Keywords:metal, aluminum, luminescence
Using sand-blast technique, we obtained an aluminum surface with optical absorption close to 100% at a wavelength of 1 micro-meter. We found intense femtosecond infrared luminescence in an energy range 0.3-1 eV. The spectrum shape and its time development are similar to those observed in gold, that is, the center of the luminescence spectrum moves to lower energy during decay, reflecting the cooling process of the electrons.
