We investigated the extreme nonlinear response of solid by pump-probe spectroscopy using the strong mid-infrared laser pulses and 5 fs visible pulses, which is called sub-cycle spectroscopy. The results of measurement focused on semiconductor materials show nonlinear phenomena such as the dynamical Franz-Keldysh effect.
