[19a-E208-8] Microwave Single-Photon Detection Using Superconducting Quantum Circuits
Keywords:Superconductivity, Single phoyon detectors, Quantum bits
We propose a non-absorbing microwave single-photon detector using superconducting quantum circuits. Our device, where a qubit is coupled to both an input transmission line and a resonator, can detect an input single photon by measuring a change of a resonator state. The calculated distinguishability, namely probability of distinguishing between no photon and one photon, goes up to 98%. We utilize the resonator with high quality factor as the detector. This might lead to better distinguishability than existing detectors where a qubit plays a role of a detector because a coherence time of resonators is usually longer than that of qubits.
