[19a-PA2-4] Investigation of terahertz wave detection using Cherenkov phase matching optical waveguide structure.

We have investigated novel terahertz (THz) wave detection using nonlinear optical effect. Requirements for terahertz wave detection are high sensitivity, room temperature operation, high speed response, and low cost. In this study, we propose a terahertz wave detection method of terahertz wave by nonlinear interaction between dual wavelength light and terahertz wave. Terahertz waves was generated using a uni traveling carrier photodiode (UTC-PD). And terahertz wave was incident on the LiNbO3waveguide with Si prism coupler. We were measured a power balance change of the dual wavelength light by the incident terahertz wave.
