[19a-PB2-8] Synthesis of c-axis grain aligned RE123 polycrystalline bulks using permanent magnets

REBa₂Cu₃O_y (RE123) superconductors exhibit high critical temperature (T_c) and high critical current density (J_c) under magnetic fields. However, randomly grain oriented RE123 polycrystalline bulks show low J_c due to the weak link of grain boundary. Therefore, we fabricated c-axis grain alingned RE123 sintered bulks by a simple magnetic grain orientation tequnique using permanent magnets and EtOH. The degree of c-axis grain alignment of the bulks including the inner part of them and their superconducting properties were evaluated.
