[19a-PB2-8] Synthesis of c-axis grain aligned RE123 polycrystalline bulks using permanent magnets

REBa2Cu3Oy (RE123) superconductors exhibit high critical temperature (Tc) and high critical current density (Jc) under magnetic fields. However, randomly grain oriented RE123 polycrystalline bulks show low Jc due to the weak link of grain boundary. Therefore, we fabricated c-axis grain alingned RE123 sintered bulks by a simple magnetic grain orientation tequnique using permanent magnets and EtOH. The degree of c-axis grain alignment of the bulks including the inner part of them and their superconducting properties were evaluated.
