[19p-PA6-20] Perfect absorber / thermal emitter by dielectric Mie resonator on refractory metal

Akihiro Kawano1 (1.Osaka Univ.)

Keywords:thermal radiation

Mie resonator shows characteristic properties such as angle independence and restriction of ohmic loss, and this is expected to be a new metamaterial. In this research, focused on coupling with plasmonic and Mie resonance, I found Mie resonators with Ge-cylinder on W substrate (Ge-W structure) shows high quality factor (~100) and high absorptivity (0.9~) at wavelength 7.9µm and emission angles from 0 degree to 30 degree. Ge-W structure can be applied to many energy devices including a complete absorber for gas sensing.
