Our previous study revealed that post heat-treatment under humid atmosphere leads to the generation of stacking faults in RE123 thin films and the stacking faults disappeared by reductive annealing. We have attempted to understand the mechanism of generation and disappearance of stacking faults and the effects on superconducting properties by post heat-treatment for fluorine-free MOD Y123 thin films. In our recent study, it was found that increasing water vapor partial pressure promotes the generation of stacking faults.
