[20p-E313-12] Concentration distribution measurement and interface instability analysis for acid-base neutralization reaction
Keywords:Liquid-liquid interface instability, Neutralization reaction, Concentration imaging
We have developed an imaging method of concentration and temperature using the absorption characteristics of water in the near-infrared region. In this study, liquid-liquid interface instability due to the neutralization reaction between a 1.0 mol/L aqueous solution of H2SO4 and a 2.0 mol/L aqueous solution of NaOH in a microfluidic channel is observed. The effect of the concentration profile, flow velocity, and relative position of acid and base on the instability is investigated.
