I report resonant Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (rEELS) for investigating element-specific charge/spin collective excitations. The apparatus uses a photo chathode with a GaAs/GaAsP strained-layer superlattice, which has the performance of high brilliance and high spin polarization as high as 80 %. The energy of the incident electron beam can be set as 0.3~1.5 keV, which corresponds to inner shell absorption energies from 3d transition metals to 4f rare earths, and its band width FWHM with and electron analyzer is about 100 meV. Here, we report the ability and obtained results so far.
