We succeeded in forming a well-defined TIPS pentacene/PMMA interface by ESD method with environmentally-friendly solvents other than halogenated aromatic solvents. Although the blend films prepared by using the mixed solvent of n-butyl acetate and acetone were clearly phase separated, void spaces were observed at the phase separated interface, and the threshold voltage was very large. By adding hexane to the mixed solvent of n-butyl acetate and acetone, it was possible to obtain the TIPS pentacene/PMMA interface closely adhered without any void spaces, and succeeded in reducing the threshold voltage of OFET.
