[10p-M113-2] Magnetic Condensation of Rare Earth Ion

Kyohei Hagita1, Isao Yamamoto1 (1.Yokohama Nat'l Univ.)

Keywords:Magnetic condensation, Rare earth, Horizontal magnetic field

Rare earth elements are valuable as functional materials such as electronic materials and magnetic materials, but they are limited so they must be recycled. New method for condensing the target element from the rare earth solution is desired. Magnetic separation is widely used for relatively large things, but there are few reports of magnetic enrichment of atomic size magnetic ions. In this study, magnetic condensation of paramagnetic rare earth ions was tried and evaluated by plasma emission spectrometry. Aqueous solution samples containing was prepared and set in a magnetic field. The position dependence of the concentration in the sample was investigated. The maximum concentration difference was about 2.5 ppm, and the magnetic concentration of ions was significant.
