Recently, improvement in the conversion efficiency of chalcogenide solar cell cells by addition of alkali metals has been reported. In the last report, it was confirmed that photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of Cu-rich Cu2SnS3 was different depending on the presence or absence of Na. However, high efficiency CTS solar cell has Cu-poor composition. In order to improve the conversion efficiency, it is necessary to investigate the CTS of Cu-poor composition from the viewpoint of fundamental physical properties. As a result, the luminescence was confirmed in the vicinity of 0.82 eV only under the condition of Cu-poor. This luminescence was presumed to be due to Cu vacancy. Furthermore, by including Na, the shape of the spectrum is different on the lower energy side than 0.8 eV, which is presumed to have defects occurring under the condition of Na and Cu-poor.
