[10p-W810-6] Amoeba-inspired Soft Computing and Robotics
Keywords:soft computing, combinatorial optimization, soft robotics
A single-celled ameboid organism, the true slime mold, realizes reasonable behavior by appropriately deforming its body, adapting to the environment. From this deformation dynamics, we can derive important design inspirations for novel IoT devices, which sense information from the environment and take in energy for efficient processing and communication. In this talk, I will introduce the current state of research and development of the amoeba-inspired technologies such as combinatorial optimization algorithms, optimization chips, and a mobile soft robot whose body is composed of flexibly deformable materials.
