[10p-W834-4] Fabrication of Er-doped microcavity for on-chip mode-locked laser

We are producing on-chip mode-locked laser with carbon nanotube and erbium-doped microcavity. In our previous work, we reported saturable absorption in CNT on microtoroids. In this work, we report on the successful fabrication of Er-doped silica microtoroid by sol-gel method. The Q factor was 1.5×10^5. We obtained up-conversion and it means that Er ions were doped silica microresonator.
