To put holographic 3D displays into practical use, enlargement of both reconstructable object space and viewing zone is inevitable. We have realized a holographic 3D display with sufficient viewing-zone in both horizontal and vertical directions based on the divergent property of a convex parabolic mirror. However, the reconstructable object space has not been discussed theoretically. In this study, the reconstructable object space has been analyzed by segmenting a hologram and the parabolic surface and using a paraxial approximation.
