In recent years, it has been a problem that blue light affects the human body, such as age-related macular degeneration. Therefore, the elucidation of the mechanism of phototoxicity generated by irradiation of short wavelength visible light to cells is required. Previously, it was found that when irradiated with blue laser light to the cell nucleus, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) accumulated in the irradiated area, indicating the irradiation with blue light caused DNA damage. In this study, we investigate the wavelength dependence of phototoxicity from observation of PCNA after laser irradiation of different wavelengths.
