[11a-PA4-3] Stimulated Emission Characteristics of a Flexible Ring Laser

Atsushi Kubota1, 〇Mitsunori Saito1 (1.Ryukoku Univ.)

Keywords:Ring laser, Organic dye, Flexible device

A flexible ring laser was fabricated with silicone rubber that contained organic dye (rhodamine). The outer diameter of the ring was 750 μm. When this ring was excited with a laser pulse of 532 nm wavelength, a stimulated emission took place in the circulating WG mode, and consequently, a strong emission emerged from the ring edge. The ring was expanded by inserting a needle to study the effect of the diameter change on the emission characteristics. As the outer diameter increased, the emission peak shifted to a shorter wavelength, and changed by 5 nm when the diameter became 1200 μm.
