[11a-S223-1] Synthesis, crystal structure, and luminescence properties of Sr(Al0.05Si0.95)6N8:Eu2+

Single crystals of Sr(Al,Si)6N8:Eu2+ were prepared by heating binary nitride powders at 2080 ºC and nitrogen pressure of 0.85 MPa. X-ray single crystal analysis revealed that it crystalizes in an orthorhombic cell (a = 9.3238(12) Å, b = 4.8459(7) Å, c = 7.8966(12) Å, space group Pnnm). It emits blue light (peak wavelength 448 nm) under 400 nm light irradiation.
