[11a-W933-2] Observation of dipole induced potentials on a metal surface by noncontact scanning nonlinear dielectric potentiometry
Keywords:scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy, scanning nonlinear dielectric potentiometry, surface dipole
Noncontact scanning nonlinear dielectric potentiometry (NC-SNDP) is a scanning probe miroscopy method, which can measure potentials induced by spontaneous polarization on surfaces. For metal surfaces, NC-SNDP will give potentials induced by surface dipoles, which contribute to workfunctions. We observe a rhodium surface and discuss the relationship between the measured potentials and known workfunction values.
