We demonstrated stable and nontoxic thermometry of adipose-tissue derived stem cells (ASCs) by using quantum sensors based on the optically detectable electron spin resonance of fluorescent nanodiamonds. ASCs were labeled with nanodiamonds while retaining their abilities of self-proliferation and differentiation to osteocytes and adipocytes. The labeled ASCs were measured by the quantum thermometry to detect the intracellular temperature changes.
