In order to increase the added value of food and to secure safety, it is important to develop a non-destructive inspection technology capable of performing all inspections. Many of the food inspections so far have been carried out by destructive measurements by sampling. On the other hand, nondestructive inspection using light also are carried for fruits, fruit juices and milk have been reported. Here we report quality inspection technology using light scattering of fruits and fruit juice using small optical fiber spectrometer and demonstration on quality inspection technology using fluorescent light scattering and fluorescence from milk.
