[11p-PB1-30] Non-reciprocity by magneto-chiral meta-surfaces at optical frequencies

Keywords:metamaterial, non-reciprocity, planar chiral structures

Planar chiral structures consisting of plasmonic metal-insulator-metal trilayers shows strong optical activities in optical frequencies. In this contribution, we numerically demonstrate that meta-surfaces with the planar chiral structures integrated with magnetic materials for magneto-optical effects give rise to polarization-independent directional birefringence, referred to as magneto-chiral effects, at visible and infrared regions. This study paves a way to novel nonreciprocal flat optical elements.
