Keywords:temperature sensor, optical fiber, high resolution

We have examined a high-resolution temperature sensor based on the precise measurement technique of the optical length of optical fiber using a gain-switched distributed feedback (DFB) laser. In this study, it was experimentally confirmed that the signal sensitivity, the temperature resolution, and the signal-to-noise ratio were improved in proportion to the number of reciprocations of the optical pulse in the fiber optic temperature sensor.
