Keywords:dusty plasmas, plasma applications, micro-organisms

We demonstrate the levitation of microorganisms in a horizontally-parallel-plate radio-frequency (RF) plasma, in order to examine the possible application of the dusty plasma technique. Experimental results demonstrate the levitation of microorganisms such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae in an RF plasma. A crystal-like structure was successfully formed as a result of the levitation of a kind of bacillus micro-organisms Klebsiella pneumoniae.
