For the development of transparent solar cells with transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) which is a novel semiconductor material, we tried to fabricate a transparent and large area TMD solar cell with WS2 thin film directly synthesized on the entire surface of a transparent quartz substrate. Indium tin oxide (ITO) was used as a transparent electrode. As a result, clear power generation of TMD / ITO transparent solar cell can be observed. Furthermore, it was found that power generation efficiency improves by optimizing synthesis condition of WS2 thin film. This achievement is very important for realizing the industrial application of TMD as a transparent solar cell.
