Molybdate phosphor BaMoO4:Eu3+ was synthesised by ball milling process at room temperature. X-ray diffraction showed the formation of desired material as milling time increased. Photoluminescence showed that emission of 613 nm split into 611 nm and 615 nm, which may be inferred that Eu3+ located at low-symmetry site in the cristal.
