Keywords:SiC photonic nanocavities, Second-harmonic generation

In this work, we experimentally investigated the dependency of second-harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency on the Q factor of SiC photonic crystal nanocavities. The SHG powers for the various input powers coupled in the nanocavities were measured, and normalized SHG efficiency, which is defined as the ratio between the SHG power and the square of coupled input power, was evaluated for the SiC nanocavities with various Q factors. It was shown that the SHG efficiency increases with an increase of Q factor and the highest efficiency of 1900%/W is achieved in a nanocavitiy with a Q factor of 5.6×105
