[12a-W834-2] H layer-layer repulsion induced H adsorbed structures on Pd surfaces

Although Pd is promising for H storage metals, the H atom adsobed Pd surfaces are not well understood. Since H atoms are negatively charged, H atoms feel repulsive interaction each other, and the H chemical potentials are increased. H surface coverage is reduced consequently. In this time, H atoms in sub-layers are also proved to give influeces on the surface H atoms, and are proved to reduce the H surface coverages.
