Cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer (CLCE) has much attraction as a material that has selective reflection of helical molecular orientation of cholesteric liquid crystal and rubber elasticity of elastomer. We have already developed a CLCE film that shows selective reflection wavelength reversibly changed by adding mechanical strain, and we revealed that the material can be used as mechano-optical sensors. In this study, we developed CLCE films aiming at narrow band selective reflection for more sensitive sensing and investigated its optical / mechanical properties.
