Keywords:Neutron scintillator, Eu:LiCSAF, Bulk

Eu: LiCSAF is a neutron scintillator containing 6 </ sup> Li with a large neutron capture cross section, and it shows a high emission amount (20,000 to 30,000 photons / neutron) under neutron excitation, so that a promising neutron scintillator It is expected as crystal. Previous studies using the micro pulling down method have revealed that the Eu: LiCSAF single crystal shows the maximum amount of luminescence when the Sr concentration is 25% [2]. In order to put this into practical use, it is necessary to increase the size of the crystal, but with this material, efforts to upsize have not been done so far. Therefore, we have grown a 1 inch diameter Eu: LiCSAF single crystal using the Czochralski (Cz) method and conducted phase analysis, composition analysis and scintillation characteristic evaluation.
