We explored bismuth-based oxide ion conductors by materials informatics (MI) predictions and experimental validations. Employing the virtual screening for 13384 oxides listed in the inorganic crystal structure database (ICSD), we selected four bismuth oxide systems, namely, SrTa2Bi2O9, SrNb2Bi2O9, BaNb2Bi2O9, and CaTa2Bi2O9 as candidates. The oxides were then made by a conventional solid state method, and the physical and conductive properties were characterized.
