PERC is a silicon-based photovoltaic cell with a dielectric passivation layer at the rear of the cell. PERC has a strong point that a passivation layer is well controlled with rear surface recombination velocities compared to a conventional back surface field layer. After molding three cells of the PERC manufacturing process, the cross section is made by polishing and ion milling. The photo-luminesce and injection electro-luminescence images of cross section of PERC are analyzed by the Infrared microscope. We report that the difference of surface recombination speed can be visualized.
