Keywords:Plasmonic photoconversion, Hydrogen evolution reaction

From the environmental point of view, highly-efficient visible light driven hydrogen evolution reaction is one of the promising reaction. Recently, it has been reported that the plasmoic photoelectric conversion system which is the combination of the plasmonic nano-structures with the wide-band gap semiconductor has realized high efficient multiple charge transfer reactions under the visible and near-infrared light illumination. In this study, we have attempted to establish plasmon-induced hydrogen evolution system by the introduction of plasmon active silver nano-structures into the p-type semiconductor substrate. Through various attempts, not only the establishment of the plasmonic hydrogen evolution system but also the clarification of the unique reaction property have been achieved.
