[9p-M116-1] Opto-Thermophoretic Manipulation of Plasmonic Nanoparticles
Keywords:optical manipulation, plasmonic nanoparticles, thermophoresis
In conventional optical tweezers, side effects arising from photothermal conversion such as fluid convection of solvents and thermophoresis of solutes are unavoidable because intense laser irradiation is required. The present study aims to explore manipulation of nano-objects using radiation pressure and thermophoresis cooperatively by controlling heat generation. We demonstrated that the ratio of radiation pressure and thermophoretic force acting on Au nanoshells in water can be tuned by changing irradiation conditions.
